How we work
Four steps, and no surprises at any of them.
An extension, conversion or renovation is a big thing to trust someone with. Here's exactly how a project runs with Harlequin — who does what at each stage, and what you get back — so there are no unknowns before you pick up the phone.
01
Survey and honest advice
Tony or Adam comes out, looks at the property properly, and talks through what you want — including the practical and planning realities of extending, converting or renovating an older or listed home. There's no charge for the conversation.
What you get at this stage
A no-charge survey, honest advice, and a realistic view of what the project involves — including the planning and structural realities of an older or listed home.
02
A clear, detailed quote
You get a written quote that sets out the scope of the work, so you know what's included before anything starts. On larger projects we work through the drawings, structural details and specification with you and your architect where there is one.

03
The build, run by the directors
The work is carried out by our team and the established tradesmen we build with, coordinated so the trades follow in the right order. Tony and Adam stay involved throughout, and the site is kept safe and tidy.

04
Finished and handed over
We see the project through to a proper finish — the making-good, the decoration and the details — and hand back a completed home rather than a list of snags. Many of our clients come back for the next project.
What you get at this stage
A completed home rather than a list of snags — the making-good, decoration and details finished, and an open door for the next project.

The stage most people never see — the work that decides the finish
